The Butterflies of Briddlesford (Isle of Wight)

July 6, 2019 @ 11:00 am - 1:00 pm

peacock butterfly close

Discover the wonderful world of our woodland butterflies on a guided walk. Our expert guides will lead you around our beautiful ancient woodland and help you learn how to identify a range of butterflies. July is the optimum time to see our woodland specialists White Admiral and Silver-washed Fritillary on the wing.

You can also learn about other rare woodland wildlife such as red squirrels and dormice from PTES staff.

Leader: Local butterfly expert and Regional Representative at British Trust for Ornithology (BTO) Jim Baldwin. Jim carries out wildlife surveys at Briddlesford on behalf of PTES.

Itinerary: You will meet Jim in the woods at 11.00am. The event should finish by 1pm. Teas and coffees will be provided back at our black hut and you will have the chance to find out more about our conservation projects.

NB: This event may be postponed if the weather is unsuitable for butterflies as we would want you to get the best sightings as possible.

By booking on this event you are agreeing to our events terms and conditions.
