Summer Pruning

Join MSOG’s Andy Howard for a day’s training course, to learn the theory, skills and practice of summer pruning for fruit trees including apple, pear, quince, medlar, plum, gages, damsons and cherries.  How summer pruning maximises your fruit growth. Why we summer prune cordons espaliers, step overs and how to do it. Discover the different methods and techniques used to shape fruit trees, control their size and influence their productivity specifically for fruit. Find out when and how to apply these to suit different circumstances and different types of top fruit.

Practice the theory on real fruit trees, to gain these skills yourself and gain the confidence to apply them in your own orchard, garden or community orchard.

£65 for MSOG members. £75 for non-members, who will receive free MSOG membership to 31st March 2023.

Free refreshments will be provided, but please bring your own packed lunch.
