- - People’s Trust for Endangered Species was set up in 1977 to save our wildlife. We are governed by a board of volunteer trustees and our team of staff are passionate about protecting endangered species and places.

The annual Apple Day is happening again this year and will be in the Market Place from 9.00am to 3.30pm.

A community event intended to celebrate the harvest, make the most of apples grown in Newbury’s gardens and have fun making apple juice.

Town Crier to Ring in Newbury Apple Day – at 10.30am the Newbury Town Crier will be in Newbury Market Place inviting people to take part in Newbury Apple Day.

Children and adults are all welcome to come and try our new scratter, press apples and taste the freshly pressed juice. People with surplus apples are invited to bring them along to our community event to make juice.
We will have an apple expert on hand to identify unknown apples from people’s gardens and also try samples of unusual local varieties for tasting.
There will also be delicious, homemade apple-themed cakes and savoury treats available for sale.
