volunteers needed!

become a hedgerow survey volunteer

Hedgerow survey volunteers are currently needed for 2010-2011 in Cumbria, Kent, Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Bedfordshire (south), Hertfordshire (north-west) and Oxfordshire.

Eleven successful Hedgerow Survey Workshops have already been held and two more will be taking place in 2010:

Volunteers will learn how to survey and map the condition of hedgerows using an adaptation of the standard DEFRA method. By the end of the workshop, the trained volunteers will be able to assist with the mapping of hedgerows corridors and will be assigned hedgerows in their chosen hotspots.

We also still need surveyors in our 2009-10 hotspots in Surrey, Essex, Shropshire and Dorset but please note no survey workshops will be undertaken these counties this year.

If you are interested in becoming a volunteer or would like to be put on our Hedgerows mailing list please email us or call Jim on 020 7498 4533.
