The maps above show where dormice have become extinct or rarer in the last century. Map 1 shows where dormice were present (yellow) and where they were common (orange) in Victorian times. Map 2 shows where populations have managed to cling on (yellow) and where they are still common (orange). Map 2 also shows sites where we have reintroduced them to the wild (red dots).
