Woolsthorpe Manor Apple Day

October 13, 2019 @ 10:00 am - 4:00 pm

Where better to celebrate Apple Day than at the home of Isaac Newton’s gravity-inspiring tree? Join us on Sunday 13 October for all things apple.

Here at Woolsthorpe Manor, our Apple Day celebration is a special day where we get to share our passion for science, nature and apples in the presence of Newton’s tree.  There should be something to suit all tastes…tangy or sweet.

Join an orchard tour to understand how we manage a historic orchard and protect our famous ‘Flower of Kent’ tree, taste a variety of local apples and make your own juice with an apple press.

We have heaps of apple inspired scientific activities for all age groups.  In the place where Isaac Newton was inspired by the fall of an apple; you can use apples to build crazy structures (engineering principles apply, obviously), and try and make the longest peel.

After the hard work building apple structures, enjoy a tatsy apple treat in the cafe.
