Summer Field Trip & Safari Supper
August 25, 2019 @ 2:00 am - 6:00 pm
By kind permission of member George Browning, this year’s Summer Field Trip will see our return to Warwickshire, for a visit to Feldon Forest Farm near Rugby. Here the Brown family husband their heritage fruit orchards and heirloom vegetables, grow organic crops and raise rare breed livestock. Our hosts will lead us on a guided tour of their farm, orchards and environmental projects and we will end with a communal picnic together. Please bring a picnic supper with enough for yourselves and a ‘little something extra’ to share, whether sweet or savoury. Home-grown or home-made treats are welcomed!
Our planned itinerary is as follows:
2.00pm – arrival, meet & greet
2.20pm – 2.40pm – introduction
2.40pm – 4.40pm – tour the farm and orchards
4.40pm – 6.00pm – communal supper
6.00pm – departure
Please note: As the visit is to a working farm with livestock, we’ll not invite our canine friends to join us on this occasion, other than well-behaved Assistance or Medical dogs.
Price: A collective donation for our hosts, to support their valuable conservation work
