Rivers Orchard Apple Day

September 24, 2022 @ 10:00 am - 2:00 pm

A festival of fun for the whole family.

Feel free to bring a picnic.

  • Buy freshly picked apples on the day or
  • Help pick our crop and take home some of your favourites for free
  • Pickers can taste as many as they like of the wide range of apples growing at the historical Rivers site

Also:

  • Light refreshments
  • Apple pressing demonstrations
  • History displays of the Rivers Nursery
  • Fruit identification
  • Apple tasting
  • Children’s activities
  • Local honey sales

The team from fruitID will be in attendance throughout the day. You are invited to bring any apples or pears from your own trees to get them identified. Bring several representative fruits. Use these guidelines to help you select examples, and if possible you can fill the ID form out in advance.

All picking equipment is provided, but feel free to bring your own apple pickers if you have them – it may speed you up at busy times! Instruction and guidance is available from our team of keen volunteers.

After picking, all apples will be juiced for sale at local events. This is the main fundraising activity of the group, so please help support our local orchard!

Please do not park in the Rivers Hospital car park or access road.
