Apple Day – Museum of East Anglian Life

October 23, 2021 @ 10:00 am - 4:00 pm

How many ways can an apple nourish us?

Join us and find out on October 23rd as the museum celebrates Apple Day 2021!

We’ll be running an entire day of fun crafts, tours, and activities for visitors of all ages! You’ll be able to see live demonstrations of our apple press, and taste-test a tantalising variety of apples and freshly-squeezed juice. Which apples are best for eating, and which for drinking? Does juice pressed from a Bramley apple taste different to juice from a local Suffolk Pippin? How have people cooked, stewed, candied, and brewed apples throughout history? Suffolk food historian Monica Askay will be there on the day to sign copies of her book Orchard Recipes from Eastern England (available in our gift shop) and share her insights into East Anglia’s rich food heritage.

The event will be running during our usual museum opening hours of 10am – 4pm and is free with normal museum entry/membership.
