This area is for licensed dormouse monitors who check dormouse nest boxes to enter their records onto the National Dormouse Monitoring Programme (NDMP). There is more information on the NDMP on our website.

If you have seen a hazel dormouse, found a dormouse nest or a dormouse chewed nut please record it here. This will help us increase our knowledge of the distribution and abundance of these rare mammals in England and Wales. Thank you.

The National Dormouse Footprint Tunnel Survey will be based on a search for dormice in hedgerows rather than any other habitat. Footprint tunnels are relatively easy to use and can be used by people who do not have a dormouse licence.

If you have a Natural England dormouse licence, you are required to report dead dormice as part of your licence return. If possible, the carcasses should be submitted to ZSL for post mortem using this form.
