Leave a legacy to wildlife

Around one third of our charity's income comes from legacy gifts; we wouldn't be able to do our crucial conservation work without them.

Thanks to the generosity of the hundreds of people who have remembered PTES in their wills, we have achieved some truly amazing things.

  • We have recruited over 120,000 Hedgehog Champions to create hedgehog-friendly neighbourhoods, and commissioned urgent research to find out why they are declining so rapidly in our countryside. Now, through the amazing efforts off thousands of people in towns across the UK taking action for hedgehogs, we’re already seeing a positive difference.
  • A generous legacy gift allowed us to buy and restore Briddlesford Woods, an internationally important ancient woodland on the Isle of Wight, and one of the last refuges in Britain for red squirrels and dormice.
  • To help save water voles from extinction, we set up a national monitoring scheme. Now, we can keep an eye on how these animals are faring across the country.
