Find out when and how to apply these to suit different circumstances and how to prune pip fruit like apples and pears and stone fruit like plums and cherries. Discover the different methods and techniques used to shape fruit trees\, control their size and influence their productivity. Find out when and how to apply these to suit different circumstances and different types of top fruit.  Learn the difference between winter and summer pruning and when and how to prune pip fruit and stone fruit. \nWe then practice the theory on real fruit trees to help you gain these skills yourself and confidently apply them in your own orchard\, garden or community orchard. Or\, why not help a neighbour or family member get their fruit trees into a productive shape? \nPrice: £50 per person for MSOG members and £60 for non-members. The courses will be held at 27 Walton Avenue\, Twyford\, Adderbury\, OX17 3JY.  Free on-street parking is available and some limited off street. DESCRIPTION:Bring\, swap and buy scions for common\, uncommon and vanishingly rare fruit tree varieties. \nMid-Shires Orchard Group will be on hand providing a grafting service. \nPTES will be present to offer orchard advice and information about the work we’re doing in traditional orchards. We’ll also have a lot of varieties to sell or swap. \nDate: Saturday 02-Feb-19\, from 10.00am to 4:00pm (6 hours) \nVenue: Buckingham Garden Centre\, Tingewick Road\, Buckingham\, MK18 4AE \nActivities: Bring your scionwood to share and swap with others\, or offer or acquire for a small donation.\nThis event will feature hundreds of rare\, local and heritage apple\, pear\, plum and cherry varieties. They\ncan be grafted on the day (as a paid service) onto purchased rootstocks of choice\, or be taken home for\ngrafting to make new fruit trees. This is a really great way to obtain and distribute rare and unusual\nvarieties of fruit tree for gardens\, home or community orchards\, fields and hedgerows. \nPrice: FREE entry! Scionwood may be swapped for free\, or acquired/provided for a small donation per\npiece or bundle\, at the supplier’s discretion. Rootstocks are at their retail prices\, discounted for five or\nmore.
