Fun fact: ‘torpor’ is like a mini-hibernation that lasts up to a day. Torpid dormice are conserving their energy during cold summer days or when food is unexpectedly scarce. Lots of our dormouse photos show torpid dormice because when they’re fully awake they’re usually too fast to photograph!
