She is taking over from Fergus who has now retired after five years of service.\n“This is one of the last fully operational horse powered apple mills in the West Country” said Alex Bailey\, Chairman of the Operations Team at The Folk\, “and we are very fortunate that we can still demonstrate how it works”\nThere will also be a chance to try some rare breed apples provided by Gloucestershire Orchard Trust and they will be there to sell apple juice and ciders and provide advice on looking after your own apple trees. \nThere will be lots of Children’s activities available and Morris dancers from Lassington Oak performing and giving Morris Dancing workshops. \nWe will have live music from a folk band and Bygonz performing at the event too.\nFor extra refreshment there will be Severn Cider running a bar with some of their favourite craft ciders available to buy.

We established a couple of new colonies last year and the bees have been busy working away to create their new home and then hopefully we’ll have our own honey available in time to sell in our shop. \nFresh from the trees and ground\nWe’ll have a range of produce available for you to try\, in particular the many varieties of apples we grow here. Bring the family and have a tasting session to see which variety your family likes best and then take some home to enjoy. \nHave a go at some orchard crafts\nAt this time of the year we bring out our homemade apple mill and press. The smell and taste of freshly pressed apples is a true autumn experience. Come and have a go at pressing some apples.
